Saturday Mar. 10 - Arrival in St. Petersburg. You will be met by a guide who will accompany you to the hotel for check-in:  Hotel           Oktiabrskaya, www.oktober-hotel.spb.ru   Dinner on your own.  (Russian fast food available nearby)

Sunday Mar. 11 - Sightseeing and Hermitage Museum

Plan 2: Conference and St. Petersburg + Novgorod

March 10-14 - Same program as above

March 15 - St. Petersburg-Pushkin-Novgorod
Load luggage and depart for Pushkin where we have lunch and visit the grandiose Catherine Palace, the most opulent of the czar's summer palaces. >From here it's only a two-hour drive to Novgorod, the oldest of Russian cities, founded in 862. Check in to the freshly renovated Hotel Sadko. Dinner and folk music in the Hotel Restaurant.
March 16 - Novgorod
Discover Novgorod, for centuries a center of artists, traders and spiritual leaders. Visit the Kremlin, the 11th-century St. Sophia Cathedral and other wonders of art and architecture. Enjoy the wooden architecture of a beautifully preserved Russian village. You will also have the opportunity to shop for local handcrafts. Tonight all delegates meet for an evening of international folk music and dancing. Your participation is encouraged!
March 17 - Novgorod-Pulkhovo Airport Departure
Breakfast buffet and departure from Novgorod. Transfer to St. Petersburg Pulkhovo Airport. You will easily be there for any flights departing after 15.00. If you must depart earlier than this, we can make arrangements.

Plan 3: Conference and St. Petersburg + St. Petersburg Extension

March 10-14 - Same program as above

March 15 - Excursion to Pushkin-St. Petersburg
Buffet breakfast in hotel

8.45 Depart for the town of Pushkin, otherwise known as Czar’s Village, where we visit the grandiose Catherine Palace, the most opulent of the Czar's summer palaces.

12.30 Have lunch in Pushkin.

14.00 Plan 2 schools depart for Novgorod and the program there. Further details according to plan 2, to be discussed on site.

14.00 Plan 3 schools return to St. Petersburg and at 15.00 have an excursion to the Peter and Paul Fortress.

17.00 Return to hotel. 

Free time.

20.00 Dinner in the Nutcracker Restaurant near the hotel.

March 16 - St. Petersburg (plan 3 schools)

Buffet breakfast in hotel.

9.30 Departure for Yusupov Palace and tour this splendid family mansion which affords a fascinating view of pre-revolutionary Russia. It was here in the basement that Rasputin was murdered in December of 1916. Lunch in the nearby historic Polovtsov Restaurant.

The afternoon will be at your leisure with assistance of a guide, to possibly include time at a small flea market by the Church of Spilled Blood OR the guide will be ready to assist you in planning whatever your group would like. Return to hotel.  Dinner on your own.

Evening free. If you would like to organize a group activity, we are glad to assist you.

March 17 - St. Petersburg-Departure Flight  (plan 3 schools)

Buffet breakfast in your hotel.

By 11.00 Take your luggage to the storage room, turn in your room key.

Free time to be coordinated with your school groups and the guides  who will meet you and accompany you to the airport, depending on your departure times.
